Come to The Table

I am fortunate to be with a group of women about to take our community by storm. We have each lifted one another up and strengthened one another in faith. We are reaching the point where this message of love is expanding. Empowering women of all ages and backgrounds to take back their lives and homes from the enemy. To embrace being a submissive wife in biblical terms. To embrace the honor and calling of being a mother, wife and daughter. We are engaging in spiritual battles and winning. We do all of this by living truth and speaking love.

Excited yet?

This is a very different women’s liberation. We are talking about breaking chains of shame, anxiety, depression and worthlessness. Walking in the freedom of your destiny. Holding a broken woman’s hand as a sister straightens her crown and she raises to her feet a new creation in Christ. This is for every woman. We have different roles, but we are all fierce, powerful, faithful women of God.

The saying, “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world” was made famous in a poem by WW Ross. Women raise the majority of children. (Props to all the men out there raising kids on their own or sharing that parenting responsibility.) The fact remains that most children are reared by a mother figure. We nurse, we bathe, we kiss bruised knees, we offer advice, and we are not perfect. We mold our children, cultivate a culture in the home, and share our faith with our kids. In raising children, we directly impact our world. Our home is a sacred battlefield and the ultimate mission.

I remember singing southern gospel with my Mom and Granny at a young age. I remember praying over my Granny’s dog. I remember Bible stories of Noah, David and Moses. This was not accidental. I was active in church. I watched how my parents and grandparents volunteered in their churches. The actions of my parents put me on a right path. Did I stray? Yeah, like a lot, but God made all things new when I rededicated my life to Him. He will do the same for you. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Maybe you did not have a great Mom or Granny in your life. Maybe you don’t have girlfriends, because of back-stabbing and gossip. Maybe you don’t have sisters that support you. You can have fellowship filled with love and trust, if you want it. Gandhi stated, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world." Through God's grace and mercy that is what we will be doing. Being the change. Loving those considered unlovely by society. Investing in those so many counted worthless. YOU ARE PRICELESS!

Lessons from Lions

It has been some time since I read Lisa Bevere’s “LionessArising”, but the image of the lioness and the pride has resonated with me ever since. Lions are social predators, meaning they work together. The male lion will roar startling prey, causing them to run toward the trap set by the females in the pride. In Lisa’s book she shares a story about relocated lions being released and how the females scope things out before the lion enters the new territory. Females have a vital role in the pride. Moreover, they support one another. They feed each other’s young and protect them from would be assailants. The females work together for the good of each other and the good of the pride. They are affectionate to one another and to each other’s cubs. They serve one another.

Christian women should be lionesses. Loyal to the Lion of Judah, fierce protectors of the pride, and communal in caring for each other’s needs. The comparison to the lion’s pride ends at exclusivity. An established pride does not welcome in others…WE WILL with open hearts and arms.

I leave you with this…Come to the Table by Sidewalk Prophets. (1st and 2nd verse with chorus)

“We all start on the outside
The outside looking in
This is where grace begins
We were hungry, we were thirsty
With nothing left to give
Oh the shape that we were in
Just when all hope seemed lost
Love opened the door for us

He said come to the table
Come join the sinners who have been redeemed
Take your place beside the Savior
Sit down and be set free
Come to the table

Come meet this motley crew of misfits
these liars and these thieves
there’s no one unwelcome here
So that sin and shame that you brought with you
you can leave it at the door
Let mercy draw you near”

Welcome to the Family!!
