Genesis 3:21
When we think of the fall, we think of the curse God put upon the serpent, woman, and man. It is unpleasant to think about how good Adam and Eve had it and how profoundly they messed it up for themselves and their descendants. There is a scripture following the curse that caught my attention for the first time this morning.
After Adam and Eve disobeyed. After they broke the Heavenly Father’s
heart, he made them clothes. Despite the anger over their disobedience, despite
them having consequences for their actions that would impact all who came after
them…God made them clothes.
If you read it too quickly, it seems almost insignificant.
However, if you think about it…God could have left them to their own devices to
figure out clothing, after all, they knew where the fig leaves were. Instead,
he made them clothes. To me, this is such a tender, loving gesture from the Heavenly Father. This is what God’s
heart is like toward us. Love, mercy and grace renewed each day.
Thought of the Day: Just because we stumble, doesn’t mean we
have to fall. God is right there wanting to forgive us and to love us beyond
our understanding. Seek His face and let him clothe you in righteousness.
